Gökhan Keser - Hadi Ordan(feat. Sıla)

Gökhan Keser is a Turkish model, actor and now singer. One of Gökhan's model gigs has been to feature in Turkish singer Sıla Gençoğlu's music videos, and now she's returning the favor when he is releasing his first single. She's featuring on the song and also makes a cameo in the video.

We like the song, but think it's a bit of a grower. We like it def. better now than upon first listen. But it's a nice etno-pop track based on a rhytm and a baseline going in samba-like tempo complete with trumpets! And if you like the video? That's totally depending if you like Gökhan or not, he's all over -milking that moneymaking model face of his.

Syria - Sbalzo di Colore

Syria is a wellknown artist in native Italy, now she's here with the first single from her eight studio album. The track is called "Sbalzo di Colore" and marks the Syria's return to pop music after the singer has experimented with different genres.

The video is an explotion of colors, outfits and props -and quite theatrical and artsy at that -Poposphere approve.

Charice - Louder

If you watch Glee, the musical series on FOX, you might certainly remember her. She's Sunshine. Remember that girl who sang "Telephone" with Rachael in the bathroom and then later stunned the Glee members with her rendition of "Listen"?

Well, she is Charice. A Filipino singer and actress, the 19-year old is a YouTube sensation but she is not in the same league as the Rebecca Black and others who have been worthless YouTube sensations.

Here is the second single "Louder" from her latest album. And she definitely can sing or else Oprah wouldn't have said that she is the "most talented girl in the world."

Shontelle - Say Hello To Goodbye

"Say Hello To Goodbye" could just aswell have been a poprock-ballad from the 90's to my ears. But it's still a good song, accompanied by a pretty video. The song was written by Martin Hansen, Layne, Sorvaag and Shontelle after she split with her boyfriend. "Say hello to goodbye, cause it's gone forever. No more try, you and I. Not now, not ever. And I'll get by without you. I'm not going back again. I'm not going to lie to you Cause, that was there and only then" she sings. The track is the third single lift from the Barbados-born singer's album "No Gravity".

Shontelle has said the following about the track "“It’s really a story of acknowledging [that] this ain’t working, it’s the end, and it’s time to say hello to goodbye. I know a lot of people can relate to similar circumstances.”

The video directed by Armen Djerrahian and is quite melancholic. Shontelle happens to run into her ex on a train in the end of the video -watch what happens.

Shontelle - Say Hello To Goodbye

Paolo Meneguzzi - Sei Amore

The Italian-Swiss pop guy Paolo Meneguzzi's latest single "Sei Amore" is a cute affair -both in terms of lyrics, melody and video. The lyrics says something along the lines of "everything will pass, this, this and this, but you won't babe, because you're love". Aaaw, cute huh? :) And the song itself is rather infectious too.

In the video Paolo is a street musician on a bridge by a beautiful lake, all the while all kinds of strange people pass him by and eventuallt start making a choreography together and then later joins him by playing different instruments. The whole video has a sepia philter over it too, trying to make it look old.

Those Dancing Days - Can't Find Entrance

Swedish Indie-girlband Those Dancing Days have released the video for their latest single, the Max Martin penned "Can't Find Entrance".  Just that collaboration thrills me. Those Dancing Days have made some pretty amazing indie-hits of their own and then mixed in with Mr. Pophit-maker himself -Max Martin... *swoon*  The result is a track that screams hit and sounds Those Dancing Days. I don't know where Max fit's into the song or what he's done, but I guess it's a job well done since they've preserved their sound completely and made a great track out of it, but I sure can't tell if apart from their other hit singles.

The music video is directed by Andreas Öhman, and it's a treat for your eyes.

Colbie Caillat - Brighter Than The Sun

Colbie Caillat is giving us another summery sugary jam to listen to while down on the beach or laying in your hammock.

Colbie Caillat - Brighter Than The Sun

Pablo Alboran - Miedo

Pablo Alboran is following up his amazing flamenco-ballad "Solamente Tú" with a great song in similar style. The new single called "Miedo"(=fear), is less fragile and Pablo is using more power in his vocals and the production is done in a way that it still feel very traditionally Spanish, but with a modern twist and also got some elements that makes me think of Celtic folk.

JLS - Take A Chance

I think we've been missing some boy band action in the blog. So here is JLS. The British lads were the runners-up of the fifth series of ITV reality talent show The X Factor in 2008. JLS also won the awards for British Breakthrough and British Single ("Beat Again") at the 2010 BRIT Awards.

For me, this song seems like any other boy band love song, but then again they've already made it big, which adds more spun to the song.

Figure out for yourselves.

Swedish House Mafia - Save the world

Swedish House Mafia is back with another epic, BIG-sounding house-track. And this is probably what you're gonna dance to this summer(at least at Ibiza). Check out the video for "Save the world":

tUnE-yArDs - Bizness

This one is strictly for the video. Watch it and you'll know.

Talking about tUnE-yArDs, it's the music project of Merrill Garbus. The first tUnE-yArDs album, "BiRd-BrAiNs,," was originally self-released by Garbus on recycled cassette tape. The second album "whokill"was released in April and "Bizness" is the first single.

MGMT - Congratulations (Erol Alkan Remix)

I was going through MGMT's website and I found this new mix for "Congratulations." Well, honestl speaking, MGMT songs do not need to be remixed. But I like this Erol Alkan version--it gives a more groovy touch to this song.

Patrick Wolf - The City

Patrick Wolf's "The City" is a somewhat techno-pop. At a first listening, nothing special. But after listening to a few times, it becomes a good listen. Take my words on that.

"The City" is the second single from this English singer's album "Lupercalia." The first single is called "Time of My Life."

Speaking about "The City," Wolf says:

"In a way it's a protest song. It's saying that no matter how homeless, poor or jobless we are, we won't let that affect our love and relationships. From a production point of view, brass was very important to the song. There's a great saxophone moment which I love, because it's quite a gutsy, rebellious instrument and that suits the theme."

Beyoncé - Run The World (Girls)

I don't like this song by Beyoncé. So, why do I post it then you might wonder. Well, I do like the lyrics and the meaning of the song, and I do like Beyoncé and I LOVE this video. The Dream, Afrojack, Diplo, Switch, Adidja Palmer and Beyoncé herself co-wrote the song -which is the first from her upcoming fourth studio album cleverly named "4", that's gonna be released 28th of June.

I could ramble on about what I like about the video directed by Francis Lawrence and list all the XXXX things that I do love about it and what makes it epic, but I won't. Check out the video for yourself and make up your own damn mind.

Beyoncé - Run The World (Girls)

The Saturdays - Notorious

British girl-band The Saturdays is returning with a bang -the new lead single "Notorious" is as fierce as you could possibly wish for. Notorious is big and build up throughout the song and is clearly meant for the dancefloors with it's pulsating bass line. The song was written by Ina Wroldsen and produced by Steve Mac.

In the video the girls are working an office -literally. They seem more likely to do you behind your cubicle and then walk over you on their way to after work then actually getting any work done. And they're really effective to changing from glasses and chic secretary looks to hot party dresses in the buildings elevator before tearing up the dancefloor on the top floor.

The single is out May 22th on download and June 27th as physical release.

Jason co-wrote and produced with The Fliptones.

Frida Sundemo - I was surrounded

Frida Sundemo is a Swedish student turned singer-songwriter, and has already released an album in Japan. Her first single outside japan is quite a beautiful number called "I was surrounded" to which you can listen to below.  The song is a soothing blend of both acoustic and electronic instruments.

Dolcenera - Il sole di domenica

"Il Sole di Domenica"(~ Sunny Sunday) is the first single from Dolcenera's fifth album called "Evoluzione Della Specie" -which is out now in Italy.

The video goes along with the songs title and was shot in Barcelona, directed by Alex Orlowski and produced by Done.

Dream Beats - Feel 4 U (feat. Alcazar)

Dream Beats is a new joint project and behind it the name stands the 3 Swedish songwriters/producers Anders Hansson, Felix Persson and Märta Grauers(last two is also members of pop band "Le Kid"). Individually they have worked with acts like Agnetha Fältskog, Kate Ryan, Cher, Christina Aguilera, Rachel Stevens, Army Of Lovers, Victoria Beckham, BWO and Alcazar.

And Alcazar happens to be their first collaborator on the debut single "Feel 4 U". You can watch the stylistic video below.

Dream Beats is gonna have a new featuring artist on every single they release and they're currently in the studio with one Ms. Wynter Gordon. Other dream collaborators for them is said to be be Donna Summer, Agnetha Fältskog och Aqua-Lene. -Make it happen! We would love to hear Lene on a dance track.

Papon - Jiyein Kyun

This song is romantic, if you don't understand the lyrics. It basically says, "Why should I live when you're gone."

It's taken from the soundtrack of a Bollywood movie called "Dum Maro Dum."

Royseven - We Should Be Lovers

Here's someone from Ireland: Royseven, a six-member band from the Irish capital. Though the band was formed in 2003, they didn't have their first album up until 2006, which was titled "The Art of Insincerity. "

Almost five years later, they are out with their second album "You Say, We Say" in March. Here is the second single from that album "We Should Be Lovers." I should say, quite a catchy song that you'd want to hum along the way.

Royseven - We Should Be Lovers

Repeat of the day: Frank Ocean - Swim Good

Frank Ocean has written songs for Justin Bieber, John Legend, Brandy, and Beyoncé Knowles as well as worked with Nas and Pharrell Williams. Ocean released a mixtape back in february called "nostalgica, ULTRA" to critical acclaim. Frank Ocean is usually part of the LA-based collective OFWGKTA(Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All), and the amazing thing is that you can download the whole mixtape from their tumblr here. They're currently on tour in the states.

"Swim Good" is the kind of classic R&B that tick my boxes and speak to my heart. Have a listen to this soulful song about lost love.

PS.You've got the lyrics after the jump.

Kat Graham - I Want It All

It-girl Kat Graham is handing her new video to us called "I Want It All". Kat hasn't announced any release plans for an upcoming album yet though. We love Kat Graham, even though she maybe hasn't had the most stellar songs so far.

In the new music video Kat is delivering (as you would expect) a fashion forward wardrobe. They've even thrown in a tiger in some shots and Kat is looking amazingly ferocious and hot while she shout the songs chorus "I-i-i waaant it all, and nothing's gonna holding me back. I-i-i waaant it all. I'm gonna take what I want."

Kat Graham - I Want It All

Aqua - How R U Doin?

90's phenomenon Aqua is back with a brand new song called "How R U Doin?". It's not as cute/silly as their previous hits, but it's a fun, upbeat and infections song none-the-less.

"How R U Doin?" is the first single from their comeback album due to be released sometime later this year. The video is futuristic, and the group's members are competing in a dirt race. The cars ain't real though, but filmed and set up in miniature, but it's working really well anyhow. It's just nice to see them once again, and with good material. What's your opinion?

Ell & Nikki - Running Scared

So Eurovision Song Contest for 2011 is over and though one of my favorites Eric Saade from Sweden didn't grab the numero uno position, Eldar and Nigar from Azerbaijan took the title.

I'd say, the song gets you into slowly. So keep listening. Sometimes they do sound a little like Lady Antebellum.

Here's the winning song.

Christina Perri - Arms

Since the first time I've come across this song today, it's been on repeat. Her vocal is soft and sweet to serenade you, and the song is too sweet not to stop listening to.

"I never thought that you would be the one to hold my heart
But you came around and you knocked me off the ground from the start"

Christina Perri is an American singer-songwriter and Rolling Stone named her "Band of the Week" on October 26, 2010. Her debut album "Lovestrong" has been released on May 10, 2011, and "Arms" is the lead single from the album. As I'm blogging, I'm still listening to her.

Alexis Jordan - Hush Hush

After "Happiness" and "Good Girl", Alexis Jordan is back with a new dance track for you to enjoy, and as with "Good Girl" "Hus Hush" is also produced by StarGate and Sandy Vee. Alexis debut album debuted at place #11 in the album chart and has since peaked at #5. The single is being released June 12, 2011, but you can watch the music video right now below. In the video Jordan is dancing out all her anger towards her man with her girl gang, all while looking fierce of course.

Wynter Gordon - Til Death

Our new dance favorite Wynter Gordonis unveiling the official video for "Til Death", the latest single from her upcoming debut album "With The Music I Die"(which also so happens to be a line from this single's lyrics). The album has been delayed several times, but seem now to be released later this summer. The song was remixed by Denzal Park and was released as a single in Australia, where it's currently is climbing the charts.

Rumor has it that Wynter is currently in the studio laying some vocals over a couple of songs for a new Swedish dance act called Dream Beats.

Pitbull - Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer)

Here's how you make a radio-flirting party song! Pitbulls latest has already sold gold in the US with his second single from his sixth album, Planet Pit. The song features vocals from American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo, Dutch DJ Afrojack, and American singer Nayer.

According to Paul Grein of Yahoo! Music, the song combines genres of hip hop, pop, and "Broadway-style theatricality" -exemplified with the repetition of the word "tonight", reminiscent of the song of the same name from the musical West Side Story (1957).
Pitbull makes references to actress Lindsay Lohan in the lyrics: "Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein, keep flowin’
I gotta locked up like Lindsay Lohan"

and then Ne-Yo sings the chorus
"Tonight I will love love you tonight
Give me everything tonight
For all we know we might not get tomorrow"

That maybe has a nicer ring to it. The video is taking place, as is not uncommon, in a club. A few shots of the whole crowd jumping up and down, but mostly slow shots of Ne-Yo and Pitbull singing/rapping in some room in the back of the club with different women moving around them.

Pitbull - Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack, Nayer)

Rihanna - California King Bed

Rihannas sixth US single(fourth international) from her album "Laud" is written by Priscilla Renea, Alex Delicata and co-written/produced by The Runners.
The song is a power ballad of the type that usually accompany you typical American rom-com. It plays on being a power ballad with some piano and thrown in electric guitars in the chorus, but Rihannas emotional vocals telling us a story about a relationship on the verge of a break-up overshadows those cliché bits thankfully which in the end make us end up with the result of a very nice and infectious song overall.

In the beginning of March Rihanna let her fans choose the next single via Twitter out of 4 songs, and "California King Bed" was the winner. Now she's gone and recorded a video for it with director Anthony Mandler who also has done music videos for Rihanna in the past like "Unfaithful", "Disturbia", "Russian Roulette" and "Only Girl (in the world)".
And as in "Only Girl" she has her retreated to nature. The video is shot in a luxurious beach house, and begins with a shot of Rihanna herself laying down in grass. This is followed by her own and her partner holding each other closely in bed, sitting on different sides of a large bed, and other scenes featuring Rihanna singing through sheer curtains and drapery.

Nicole Scherzinger - Right There

Nicole's new single is not a club banger signed RedOne -which one might have though. No, this is a catchy R&B-jam with a great hook produced by Jim Jonsin & written by Ester Dean. This is the kind of Hip-Hop I can approve. There's also a version that features 50-cent out there, but I think this one is the superior one.

In the video, directed by Paul Hunter, Nicole is jamming and dancing with her friends in the hood. I think this is one of the best things Nicole has done solo. In the video she's looking hot as the usual, the lyrics is about partying, talking dirty and dancing sleazy -which sounds completely believable in Nicole's mouth.

Video Update: Lady Gaga - Judas

"Judas" is the second single from Lady Gaga's latest album "Born This Way."

The song has Gaga's trademark kind-of music as that of "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face." The video has been co-directed by Gaga herself and Laurieann Gibson who has directed Gaga's other videos including "Poker Face," "Bad Romance," "Just Dance," "Love Game," "Telephone," and "Alejandro" among others.

Repeat of the day: San feat. Therese - Kissed by the sun (S1dechain Remix)

San is a Dutch DJ and producer and his track "Kissed by the sun (S1dechain Remix)" has been on repeat in my headphones all evening. It's a wonderful house track with several layers and beautiful vocals from Swedish singer Therese. Love the lyrics as well.

San feat. Therese - Kissed by the sun (S1dechain Remix)

"A little bit of faith is all I'm asking for
a little bit of change and it feels so good
You u know I love when you're dancing for me
something about how you're dancing for me
And now you've got the faith, I see the trust in you
I take you to the place you've never been
Kiss is smooth, kissed by the sun, I'm breathing in, you,
Really wanna work this out, gotta make it work somehow
baby, don't you walk away

put a little something to it
I know that you and I could do it
baby, I want you
"

Hadise - Superman

Turkish-Belgian singer Hadise is treating us to her new video. The song was mediocre upon first listen to us, especially if you compare to our favorites like 'Dum Tek Tek' or 'Aşkkolik'. But it's grown on us and the video is very pretty. I have no idea why the song has an English title, becasue it's completely sung in Turkish.

The song is taken from her upcoming album 'Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer?'(meaning= What size does love wear?) and have a bit darker and edgier R&B sound than she's done before. We approve, and eagerly awaiting next single and the new album.

Hadise - Superman

Video Update: Frankmusik - Do It In The AM(feat. Far East Movement)

Now Frankmusik has released a video for his new single 'Do it in the AM' that we wrote about a week ago. The song is out on iTunes in the US, but no word about a European release yet.

M. Pokora - A nos actes manqués

Matt Pokora is re-releasing his platinum selling album 'Misé à Jour' and nifty adding 'Version 2.0' to it. In doing so they've also put a few new songs on it, including this new single called 'A nos actes manqués'.

Pokora who is mainly known for beat heavy RnB dance tracks and ballads, did a 360 when he recorded this cover from 1991 by the French trio Fredericks Goldman Jones. And Pokora goes all out to make sure this is gonna be a summer hit (not much different from the aim with J.Lo's latest song I guess) when filmed on Cuban beaches and the use of trumpets, kids waving their hands in the air, touch of African rhythms and even a gospel like choir in some parts, it all ending with a nice message to us(at least me) fans. What do you make of it?

Plain White T's - Boomerang

Here is Plain White Ts again. From "Hey there Delilah" to "1,2,3,4" to the "Rhythm of Love," I've always liked their music--soft, pop with a flavor or rock.

Here's their latest "Boomerang" from the album Wonders of the Younger.

Chris Brown - She ain't you

I wonder at what pace this guy is working. It feels like he's popping out a new song(of his own or featuring on someone else's) every other week and a video a month. This year alone Chris has released the following singles: 'No Bullshit', 'Look at Me Now', 'Beautiful People'(WORTH a listen if you haven't danced to this yet) and now his new single 'She ain't you'.

His latest record is taken from his fourth studio album F.A.M.E. and is written by Brown, Jean Baptiste, Ryan Buenda, Kevin McCall and Jason Boyd, and produced by Free School. 'She ain't you' samples both the remix of SWV's 'Right here' and Michael Jackson's 'Human Nature', and even in the video - directed by Collin Tilley -  Brown pays tribute to Jackson. Brown is dressed in an 80's-stykled suit similar to the one Michael Jackson wore in his music video for 'Smooth Criminal', plus Brown is doing various iconic Jackson-inspired  dance moves.

The song is a slow RnB-affair and I think the homage he pays to Michael both in the song and the video is very tastefully done.

Introducing Six D

Six D is a new act from the UK, and it shows that this is a major deal for it's label Sony who's invest a lot in this group. All of the members (the 3 boys: Kieran, Pierre and Levon, and the 3 girls: Chantelle, Cassie Kimmy) are great street dancers and which you can probably tell after watching the video for their single '2 Seconds'.

Apparently they can all sing too, unfortunatly that's hard to show off in a video where autotune is used to a great bit.

The members were chosen after auditioning 2500 people. And their debut album has been recorded in studios in Miami, LA and London with some big producers and songwriters. So apparently this is supposed to be creme de la creme. Judge for yourself, but I'm sure that no matter whether you like them or their single, or you won't -you're gonna be hearing more from them.

Six D - 2 Seconds

Jennifer Lopez - I'm into you (feat. Lil Wayne)

Jennifer Lopez's follow up to her megahit 'On the floor' is a track penned by Lil Wayne, Taio Cruz and Norweigan duo Stargate(the latter did the production aswell).
The song gos in another direction from 'On the floor' and is more a chill, groovy, going down to the beach kinda song. Perfect for the early summer. They've went all in and off course even taped the video on a beach to really make sure it's gonna be that summer hit her label would love it to be. To me the song lacks something and there are better choices for second single on her new album 'Love?'. And the weirdest thing is that they've thrown in 25 seconds of one the better single choices(the RedOne-penned clubbanger 'Papi') with choreography and all -that then goes back into another chorus of 'I'm into you'. Very strange indeed. Have a look for yourself.
