Introducing: Matt Cab

I had a hard time finding info on this guy. Matt Cab is a 22 year old guy based in San Francisco. And he's not only a singer, but a songwriter and a producer too. He's a soulfull singer with a soothing voice.

He's got an EP out on iTunes in the US and in Japan called 'Heartbeats' and are currently working on a full length album. He's had a #1 single in Japan with the debut track "The One".
The track "If it's not me" that's climbing on the Japanese iTunes ATM is what grabbed my attention though. It's a very pretty piano based R&B track that is easy on the ears. Check it out below.

If you doubt this guy's talent just check out any of his many covers of popular songs on his myspace page or YouTube-channel.

The Brits

I'm not a particularly huge fan of Cheryl Cole or her (former?) girl group Girls Aloud, but I can't resist a good pop tune. I didn't like this song that much the first 2 times I listened to it, but now with the release of the video it all falls into place. And the video is very stylish and tasteful -gorgeous in other words. The director is the brit Sophie Muller who's worked with artists like Leona Lewis, Beyoncé, Kings of Leon, Duffy, P!nk, Mika Gwen Stefani, Lilly Allen, Garbage amons others before.

Check out Cheryl cole - Promise this below:

Second we have the wonderful girl group The Saturdays with their second single "Higher" from their new album. After a disappointing first single they're back with a great one, the music video is a bit of a outdoor town street snooze fest though I'm afraid. But the song is catchy and fun as most of their singles are.

Rock

I know that this is a pop themed blog and I rarely listen to rock music, but this song is so good and has been on repeat in my playlist this week, so I couldn't pass on sharing it with you guys.

It's the american band "30 seconds to mars" fronted by fellow actor Jared Leto, and he's also the one that has written the song that I'm presenting to you here "Closer to the edge". It's the 3rd single from their album "This is war". Can't really figure out what the lyrics is about, but it's pretty nevertheless.

Austrian Schlager

This is a schlager/pop-fusion from an austrian recording artist called Charlee. It's called 'Boy like me' and is written by Kesha, David Gamson and Alex James. And it's the first single from her debut album 'This is me'.

Ballads x3

The danish pop/schlager group Sukkerchok has got a new lineup and as of such they have released a new single, which is this pretty mid-tempo ballad called 'De 1000 Drømmes Nat'("The night of 1000 dreams"). It's in the same style as Beyoncés 'Halo' and grows with each listen.

The new boyband The Wanted who had a huge hit in the UK with the great 'All Time Low' are back with their second single who is a ballad called Heart Vacancy, its very cute and catchy and is surely gonna put some teenage girl hearts on fire.

The new Swedish pop-sensation Mohombi who had a fairly big hit with 'Bumpy Ride' and is the first artist signed to the Swedish poducer RedOne and Universals joint label, is gonna be introduced to the UK with a ballad which the american R&B singer Nelly is featuring one. It's a really pretty gem that I'm loving more after each listen.

More K-Pop: BoA - Hurricane Venus

My favorite asian artist who released an amazing English album in the US last year, have gone back and made some music sung in Japanese and Korean. Haven't really liked any of them until this one popped up a few weeks ago. The video is amazingly pretty with different excentric outfits and - as always when it comes to BoA - great dance routines.

Repeat of the day: Kangta - 愛, 頻率(Breaka Shaka)

The former member of widely popular korean group H.O.T., Kangta is making a comeback and releasing a mini-album digitally for the Chinese market -And here's the music video for the first single. The video itself feels a bit like someone followed a step-by-step instruction video for making a K-Pop MV, but the song is great and the video does it's job, so one shouldn't complain I guess.
