The return of the saxophones

For me saxophones takes me back to my childhood in the 90's, and I'm happy it is making a return in more and more contemporary songs. We had a huge hit in the eurodance song "Mr. Saxobeat" by the romanian singer Alexandra Stan 2011. And this year we got two more fantastic dance songs incorporating the lovely instrument that the saxophone is, albeit with a more updated modern sound obviously. They're quite similar that they're both great dance tracks with focus on the music with a tiny bit of vocals on there.

The first one is "Vandaag"(today) by Dutch DJ Lodewijk Fluttert, or Bakermat -that is his stage name. This single was released in the beginning of the year and consisting of electronic/house music with jazz and sould influences and integrates a sample of well known "I have a dream" speech by Martin Luther King Jr(which acutally is the only bad part in the song sadly enough). The song has appeared high in the charts in France, Belgium and Netherlands already.

Second we've got the French electronic music duo Klingande consisting of Cédric Steinmyller and Edgar Catry, with the track "Jubel". Jubel is currently on the top 10 iTunes chart in France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Luxembourg. The song is a more traditional dance track with female vocals with a very few lines. The star here is off course not her, but the smooth infectious saxophone beat that get you hooked right from the get go. With these two lovely songs we celebrate the saxophones return to the charts late into the night.
