Leona Lewis premiered her new single "Collide" on Scott Mills show on Radio One last Friday. It's a bit of a new direction for her. She's got help from progressive house DJ Avicii(aka Tim Berg) who's provided the backtrack for her. The song is also produced by Sandy Vee, and co-written by Autumn Rowe. In Leona's version she's singing a lovely ballad-ish melody that fits perfectly over the music which results in a beautiful forward-moving song with piano melodies. The song is a grower, would fit perfect as soundtrack to your car/train(whichever you prefer) ride, and kinda sounds like a dance remix of a ballad, so I imagine it would sound wonderful in an acoustic version as well.
"Collide" is the lead single from Leona Lewis third studio album scheduled to be released sometime late this year. Lewis describes her upcoming album as "energetic, deep, and unique". She also commented that it would have a darker tone and that she would be putting her "heart into the lyrics". She cited Tracy Chapman, Kate Bush and Tears for Fears as the album's primary influences.
