Video Update: Eric Saade - Hearts in the air (feat. J-Son)

Here's the video for Eric Saade's "Hearts in the air" that we mentioned earlier.

The video is pretty straight forward. Eric and J-Son is playing videogames all day until their girlfriends complain and tell them to get their asses of the couch and go to work. Eric sings that "You keep telling me to grow up
Get a job and stop the kid stuff  Well, I hate to disappoint you then  ‘Cause I have walked the stage since times began"
and trying to convince us that being a pop star is a real job just like any else -riiight... ;) "

The Reason 4 - Take It All

Oh, this is SO good. The guys can become huge. Long time since we had a fresh boyband like this.
The Reason 4(pronounced just "The Reason2) is a vocal group from Southampton, consisting of Nathan, Scott, Mark and Glenn whom been friends for 10 years.

The Reason 4 appeared on the series 7 of the TV-show The X-factor UK. They never made it to the live shows, but astounded the judges and the audiance in their first audition when they did a rendition of Chery Cole's "Fight For This Love", after which X-factor guru Simon Cowell labelled them as "one of [his] favourite groups this year".

After leaving X-Factor they got signed a major publishing deal with Sony/ATV, and is currently recording their debut album. The first single "Take It All" is written by the band and Andrew Murray, and will be released 7th August 2011, with the album following shortly after.

"Take It All" is a great ballad with beautiful vocal harmonies. The guys ain't just handsome, but can really really sing, and placing themselves musically somewhere between JLS and Take That.

Yes girls -I know you're going crazy over Joshua. And now he's treating you to a new song and video that will be featured on the UK-edition of his 2010 album "The Rock and The Tide", which is set to be released August 1st.

"I missed you" is a great catchy little song that has summer hit written all over it.

2NE1 - I am the best

2NE1 a Pop/Hip-Hop girl group, that also is one of the biggest acts in Korea is premiering their new video for "I am the best". The single is already presenting itself as their sixth #1 hit in Korea.

The song got fierce verses and catchy hooks, meanwhile the video is sexy and stylish in contrasting black and white/silver. The girls is styled in a thought out Asian punk-rock style -with bats, machine guns and all. You don't wanna mess with these girls!

2NE1 - I am the best

Darren Hayes - Talk Talk Talk

Darren Hayes returns after 3 years with a new single called "Talk Talk Talk". The song is the lead single from his upcoming fourth studio album "Secret Codes and Battleships". It sound like you expect a Darren Hayes
song to sound like -and that's not something bad folks!

Darren wrote and produced the song in Sweden together with producer Carl Falk. The video features
Darren singing the song in a wide variety of different landscapes designed by his husband Richard, who directed the video. The single is out now on iTunes, and also features a cover of the Madonna classic "Angel".

Enrique Iglesias with Usher - Dirty Dancer (feat. Lil Wayne)

Here's Enrique and Usher's new video for "Dirty Dancer". The song was written by Evan Bogart, Erika Nuri and David Quiñones and producer RedOne, and is the sixth(!) single from Enrique's album "Euphoria". The single was released on may 9th, but it's not until now that we've gotten the video.

The song is what you'd expect from RedOne by now, it's a hot pop track, with sexy lyrics and sick rave beats. I must say that I love the production on the new intro of the single version of the song, it's very striking.
In the video directed by Ethan Lader we've got a futuristic stylish sci-fi setting. Usher and Enrique is watching their own pole dancing girl, and sings "she's a dirty dirty dancer", and when their show and the video is about to end they realize that they will "never be her only", as the girls is just virtual reality holograms.

I really like the style of the video, it's very pretty, but could some stylist ever be bother to put Mr. Iglesias in something more exciting than plain t-shirts, hoods and leather jackets -please?? And the girls are hot and really talented, why do they HAVE to put them in hooker heels? There are other hot shoes to and women are enough objects in hip-hop videos as it is, hooker-references isn't necessary. Check out the video below.

Repeat of the day: Dumè - Je ne sais rien faire

This song is a year old, but remembered it today. It got a really summery feel to it. When I started playing it I remembered how good it is which made me play it several times over the day. It's a beautiful singer-songwriter/pop-gem with a really pleasant melody -hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

Dumè - Je ne sais rien faire

Britney Spears - I Wanna Go

F.u.n.-Britney is back y'all!
The song is written by Shellback, Max Martin and Savan Kotecha and is a dance pop song with techno-influences, a whistled melody and stuttered vocals, with Brit singing about losing her inhibitions. It's a fun track and the video directed by Chris Marrs Piliero continue down that road. This is our favorite video of Britney for a very long time.

Our favorite parts in non specific order:
¤ Britney telling reporters to fuck themselves
¤ Reporter wearing a plastic gold crown
¤ Britney flirting the hell out of the camera
¤ Britney flashing in the middle of the street
¤ Britney sexing up a police man
¤ The cinema sign that says "Crossroads 2: Cross Harder"
¤ Britney whopping robo-paparazzi asses with her mic chord
¤ .........nah we'll stop with this stupid chart-thing. Just watch the video - it's fun and upbeat.

Gilles Luka feat. Nyusha - Plus près(We can make it right)

French singer/producer Gilles Luka is featuring Russian popstar Nyusha on his latest single "Plus prés (We can make it right)", that is a great dance song sung in French and English, really nice eurodance of the old school kind without sounding outdated. We certainly wouldn't mind shuffling our feet to this on a dancefloor.

PS. Poposphere is now also pleasantly viewable in your cellphone- nice huh? ;)

Gilles Luka feat. Nyusha - Plus près(We can make it right)

Lady Gaga - Edge of Glory

So, Gaga gas unleashed her latest video on us acompanying her single "Edge of Glory", and...well....um...it's def. lacks something. I like the song it's catchy and I love the implement of a saxophone-solo, performed by no one less than late Clarence Clemons of The E Street Band. The song speaks of the very last moments of living on earth, and was apparently inspired by Gaga's grandfather's death in 2010. It was written by Fernando Garibay and Gaga.

Back to the video: It's bloody aweful. It's one set, and one outfit, no dancers, in the setting around a fire escape in NY. Some critics have compared the simplistic video to the ones for Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean" and Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach". I say bullshit. Those videos at least had a story, a narrative, something to excite you. Gaga's is beautiful styled though wearing a raunchy number from Versace, but she's only got one outfit as I said. The video is directed by Gaga and her team House of Gaga, and maybe she should get a real director for the next one because this wasn't good. All I can say is that I hope that we get a better one for "Hair".

Repeat of the day: Nujabes feat. Cise Starr - Lady Brown

Japanese Hip-hop producer and DJ Nujabes unfortunately died in a car accident early last year, but as with any great muscisian he lives on through his music. Got introduced to this record by a friend a while back and I've listened to it a lot recently, as well as today -and therefor I wanna make this repeat of the day.

Have a listen to a truly amazing hip hop record. "Lady Brown" is a track that features Cise Starr and blend hip hop with Jazz in a seamless way. The track reminds me of American rapper Naz's early work -which is a HUGE compliment in my book. What makes the track so unique is a sample from Brazilian guitarist and composer Luiz Bonfá's track "The Shade of the Mango Tree". The track is taken from Nujabes debut album "Metaphorical Music".

Adele - Set Fire To The Rain (Moto Blanco Club Mix)

I had a conversation with myself earlier. It went down something like this:
-I think our blog are lacking in the Adele-department
- You are right, there ain't enough Adele on there. Why is that?
- Well she hasn't done any videos except for that first single of hers, "Rolling in the deep", that has been played everywhere.
- Should that(i.e. her lame PR-management) really stop us??
- no, that's simply wrong

So there you have it folks. I'm giving you more Adele, and since the radio stations is playing her singles until LP-needles are breaking(well they should've done if radio stations still used LP-players) I hereby give you a very good remix instead:

Dia Frampton - Heartless (Kanye West Cover)

Dia Framption may not be a name familiar to you, especially not if you're not watching the American TV-show "The Voice", Dia has made the most talked about performance on the show when she covered Kanye West's song "Heartless" and really made it her own.

Whether she wins the show or not, I really hope she'll get to release a record because who wouldn't want more of this amazingness?! So heartfelt and beautiful. One of the judges on the show, the singer and producer Cee Lo Green praised Dia Framptions performance by saying that it was “very original” and “probably the greatest rendition of a song I ever heard.”

Dia Frampton - Heartless

Andain - Promises

Andain is an electronica gruoup founded in 2000 and consist of singer/song-writer Mavie Marcos and Dj/producer Josh Gabriel (of Gabriel & Dresden). They've only released on album during all this time though, but now a second album is said to be on the way(release winter 2011) and "Promises" is the first taste of that, that we get.

Have a listen to this beautiful ambient chillout track wich reminds me a bit of Enya.

Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

This is pretty frekkin' hilarious. We're talking about the music video for Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" featuring cameos by Rebecca Black, Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, Hanson, Kenny G, Debbie Gibson and Corey Feldman. So fun that Rebecca Black got invited to the party since Fridays is her favorite day of the week.

The track was written by Perry, Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee, and produced by Dr. Luke and Max Martin. Katy Perry desscribed how the song came to be: "It's a song about debauchery because I had one of those nights in Santa Barbara. We went out to this place called Wildcat and got crazy. We had a couple of beers and danced until we died, then brought the party back to the hotel room. Most of that song is actual truth, apart from the ménage à trois… unfortunately! But, yes, streaking in the park, that’s what we did, so we had to write a song about it the next day!"

The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld and Katy Perry takes on the role of Kathy Beth Terry, a nerdy teenager with braces, headgear and oversized glasses who's just woken up the morning after a house party. A male guest opens the door to her bedroom and congratulates her on having the best party ever. Puzzled as to what happened, she goes online, only to find pictures of herself in various compromising positions. The video then goes into a flashback of the events that occurred the night before. Check it out below.

The Wanted - Glad you came

There isn't a lot of boybands around these days, is it? The Wanted has done pretty well for themselves though with 3 singles in the UK top 5 singles chart. Here is their latest single from their second album, called "Glad you came". And yes, I am kinda glad they came -because this song at least make me happy.

The Wanted - Glad you came

Thomas Ring - Leave a light on

Danish rocker Thomas Ring is treating us to his latest video, "Leave a light on". This is a testament that "proper" musicians can achieve greatness through reality shows such as X-factor.

Party Friday x3

Long time since I cam across this kind of dance track. The early 00's I believe. But it doesn't sound dated to me, just fun and make me wanna dance and sing along to the lyrics. Reckon this is gonna be a huge hit on the dance floors over the summer.

Sak Noel - Loca People

Now over to another Spanish DJ and producer. A lot less unknowned though. Carlos Jean has earned himself 7 Latin Grammy Awards while producing for famous Spanish and Latin artists. His single "Lead The Way" is a dance track and has already peaked at #4 in the Spanish single chart.

Carlos Jean - Lead The Way

One of my favorite artists is the last one out in this party-post -Swedish club princess Therese. It's the second single from her upcoming EP "Missing Disco" which she's been working on for the past 5 years. "Remedy" is also states the reunion of Therese and house-producer Stonebridge, and how they do it. It's a total smash in a similar vain as Swedish House Mafia.

The lyrics is very good as dance songs go, I especially like the line
"I'm a queen of my own creation, uncontrollable with peace in my mind

I'm a lady of mass destruction, and I need a total fuckin' release"

Therese - Remedy                                                                    Lyssna: Lyssna på låt nummer 1!

Clemens - Byen Sover

Clemens is a rapper from Copenhagen, Denmark, but "Byen Sover"(=The city is asleep) is far from a traditional hip-hop song, no, this is rather a swirling dance hit! Clemens is joined by singer Julie Maria in the songs chorus, which adds a beautiful dreamy feeling to the track. Like a mix between Robyn, Röyksopp. Medina and a rapper -which works amazingly well together.

Clemens - Byen Sover

Timoteij - Het

Well, this is Scandinavian folklore mixed with a modern sound performed by a quartet of four young blond beautiful Swedish girls -what more could you wish for? Their new single is called "Het" which means "Hot", and that is what the guy in the lyrics makes them apparently.

The Wombats - Techno Fan

I remember enjoying "Backfire at the Disco" and "Let's Dance to the Joy Division." Those are very 2007. The Wombats are now back with their latest, and I'm glad I have a friend who keeps up with all the music around the globe, and also the music I like!

Here's their fourth single from the latest album "This Modern Glitch."

Hamro Team - Nima Rumba and Aastha B

k, this is not the greatest song but I don't know why I've been listening to it for the umpteenth time now. This is a Nepali song from the television series Hamro Team (Our Team) being premiered today. The male singer is one of the top pop singers in the country and the female singer is an upcoming pop artist.

With a motive to make young people dare to dream and follow it, especially in countries that are in transition from conflict, Search for Common Ground (SFCG), a US-based INGO, has been working with a multination approach merging the appeal for sports and soap operas “to help transform social attitudes and diminish violent behavior” in these countries.

Hamro Team is the Nepali version of SFCG’s global program, The Team, which has already been implemented in countries like Côte d'Ivoire, Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya and Palestine. The show made its debut as a radio program in Kenya after violence erupted following a disputed presidential election in 2007. According to an April 2010 article in The New York Times by Jack Bell, SFCG has been in the process of producing The Team in 10 countries with US$ 6.5 grant from UK Department of International Development. The project has now been expanded to 15 countries.

Melanie C - Rock Me

Melanie C released her latest album back in 2007, and now she's making a return with new single "Rock Me" -which is a bit confusing title since it's more of a dance track. I have a heard time making up my mind what I think of this. If it means that he upcoming album "The Sea" will be more dance and pop-oriented than the music she gave us last I'm all for it though. Can't we just agree that no-one should be allowed to sing "in the air-AIR" in a song again this decade though? -Great!

The song will soundtrack this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany. Check out the video and let us now what you think about it.

Melanie C - Rock Me

Tim Bendzko - Nur noch kurz die Welt retten

This wasn't something I expected to see on the German charts -like ever. It's a good, no great singer-songwriter track sung in german!! That is like unheard of, but yet -there it is. And I see why, it's a great song. The sentiment of the refrain is something like "I have to go and save the world, babe. But right after that I'll come back to be by your side". Quite beautiful I think.

I really like this and am looking forward to hear more from Mr. Bendzko.

Tim Bendzko - Nur noch kurz Welt retten

Shakira - Rabiosa

"Rabiosa" is the latest single from Shakira and is featured on her album "Sale el Sol". The video is directed by Jaume de Laiguana, who's been collaboration with the singer on several of her previous music videos. The video was filmed in Barcelona, Spain and is fun and simple. Shakira is at a home party enjoying herself, which fit well with the title of the song which translates to "Berserker".

Nez - Oldu Mu

I don't know anything about Turkish singer Nez Zamanı to be honest, but this is a great new dance track either way that I stumbled upon the other week. So take those legs out for a spin on the dance floor while listening to this Turkish disco-gem.

Nez - Oldu Mu

Beyoncé - The Best Thing I Never had

Beyoncé has already released her second single: "The Best Thing I Never Had" which is a nice mid-tempo ballad tha shows off the singer's vocal abilities. Guess "Run This World(Girls)" didn't do as great as her label had anticipated... The new single is a great track, but  itdoesn't match "Halo" though. The song was written by Babyface and J. Que.

In the song lyrics Beyoncé sings about an ex-lover and how their break-up suited both parties, and that the ex-love interetest didn't recognized the potential of a happy companionship with her until the break-up took place. Beyoncé then concludes that she's glad that she "dodged the bullet".

Beyoncé - The Best Thing I Never had

Maria Mena - This Too Shall Pass

Norwegian Singer-Songwriter Maria Mena is following up her 2008 album "Cause and Effect" with this first single from a untitled forthcoming album. The song is called "This Too Shall Pass" and sounds as you expect a Maria Mena-single to sound: beautiful piano melodies, pretty emotional vocals and meaningful lyrics. The lyrics tell the message that relationships have struggles, but if you working on them you can overcome them.

"The winds of your ego
The waves of my tears
Made the most perfect almighty storm that we’ve seen this year
But experience gathered
We’ve learned from our past
So don’t worry darling
This too shall pass…"

Eric Saade - Hearts in the air (feat. J-Son)

After Eric Saade's third place in Eurovision Song Contest, he's now back with a new single called "Hearts in the air". It sounds like it tries to resemblance the recent dance/R&B-fusion that's happening right now and is even featuring a rap from J-Son, I would say that it still feels a lot more pop though -but I like it.

Eric Saade is doing "a Robyn" in that sense that he's gonna release two albums this year. The reason for this is apparently because Eric has been recorded so many great songs that one album wasn't enough. The first album is released june 29th and the second one will be released in september.

Eric Saade - Hearts in the air (feat. J-Son)

2 Cellos - Smooth Criminal

It started out like other things before them -a youtube phenomenon. 5 million hits later and Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser -the guys behind 2 Cellos have gone and recored a video for their cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" performed only on two cellos(hence the name -duh!). Check it out below -really impressive. The duo is now set to release an album with covers of famous pop and rock songs, and gonna be on tour none other than Elton John over the summer.

2 Cellos - Smooth Criminal

Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

As Coldplay put it themselves "We're about to play a bunch of summer festivals so it's as good a time as any to put out a new song." And there you have it. The new single is not a new "Viva La Vida", but it's a nice track and I'm sure it's gonna be played on many radio stations all over the world throughout this summer.

Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Robyn - Call your girlfriend

Here is the latest video from Robyn, "Call your girlfriend" directed by Max Vitali. It's simple but quite amazing -Robyn is dancing it out on her own in an empty lit up school gym.

Mylène Farmer - Lonely Lisa

Mylène Farmer is often referred to as the French Madonna, and now she's releasing the third single from her latest album. As with the fist single this one is also produced and written by RedOne. Check out the just released video for Lonely Lisa below.

Mylène Farmer - Lonely Lisa

Rihanna - Man Down

Rihanna sure is good at releasing new singles. While "Californiga King Bed" was choosen by fans on twitter as the next single and is the 4th international single, "Man Down" was released to American urban radio on may 3rd -and here's the video for it. "Man Down" was written by Shama Joseph, Timothy & Theron Thomas and Shontelle.

Rihanns told the following about the single to MTV News: "Man Down is gangsta. It comes from me trying to achieve that [vibe]. I'm super inspired by reggae music [and it] has been a part of me since I was born, and I grew up listening to it. I grew up loving it. My favorite artists are all reggae artists. The special thing in that song is the fact that it's a female singing those lyrics, then you have that reggae thing and the chant; the overall energy in that song is so gangsta." She added later "It's got a lot of swagger. I really enjoy it."

The music video for "Man Down" was shot in Jamaica and was directed by Anthony Mandler, who worked with Rihanna for most of her music videos. In the video Rihanna shots a man that tried to rape her, and that has already caused a stir in America as The Parents Television Council (PTC), a non-profit organization that advocates responsible entertainment, criticized Rihanna for "cold, calculated execution of murder" in the video, The council disagreed with Rihanna's suggestion that killing a rapist is a proper form of justice. They also stated "If Chris Brown shot a woman in his new video the world would stop. Rihanna should not get a pass".

Mohombi feat. Nicole Scherzinger - Coconut Tree

Swedish-Congolese singer-songwriter Mohombi is keep releasing videos from his debut album "MoveMeant". On the 4th single he's joined by former Pussycat Doll member Nicole Scherzinger who's doing pretty well now compared to her debut solo album "Her Name Is Nicole" back in 2007. The song is called "Coconut Tree", and it's a fun upbeat love song produced by RedOne.

And then we've got the video... which feels like it was shot in a green house or something playing the set of that of an Island. Works so-so, and Nicole is wearing a thick hat in the video -who wears a hat(that doesn't even shield you from the sun) in the tropics? Nah, the video is kinda blah -but we do like the song.

Ram Sampath - Bhaag DK Bose

It's amazing how India is changing and so many of the trends, including the music trend in the world's largest film industry popularly known as Bollywood.

This upcoming movie called Delhi Belly has been creating quite the wave in the subcontinent with its fresh splash of music. Usually Bollywood movies typically have same kind of music to which the actors can dance to.

Here's the soundtrack from the movie. And since I cannot just decide which one do I like more, I'm just posting both of them. While the first one has a rock, indie feel to it, the second one is very romantic. Can't get enough of the song.

Enjoy.
