Two great songs - Two music videos with superhero theme

Both The Saturdays and Alicia Keys are superheros in their music videos for their latest singles.
The Saturday girls look hot and are slim like supermodels, unlike Alica Keys(she's still hot, just with curves and aint a skinny bitch), but they fail with their superhero-theme. Their superpowers just feels kitchy and cheap, and so does their outfits. The plot seem to be to just to torture and make life miserable for a guy with a too big ego.

Alica Keys outfit isnt exactly high fashion either, but it works better and her plot and powers have a little more depth to it. She has the power to heal hurt people, but at the same time when she touch people that are healthy and well, they get sick instead. So now, check out these smoking hot women in their new videos and enjoy two amazing songs.

Sheri, U got me good girl

I like Sheri, she has a nice a bit dark, smooth R&B-voice, she's confident, has talent and write her songs in collaboration with other songwriters. She has released three singles so far: Hit 'n' Run, Smooth Operator, First Sign. None of them have given her the break she deserve. I think that First Sign could've been that hit for her, but unfortunately they didn't go for the alternative remix of it, which in my opinion was by far superior to the original.

Now she's going for it again with a new single, which this time is backed up by one of the most anticipated Swedish movies and a renowned music writer/producer. The movie is "Easy Money" which is an adaptation of the best-seller book of Jens Lapidus. The songwriter is none other than Jörgen Elofsson.
I've been waiting for the song for a while, and now that its here it's maybe not that super hit that I've been wishing for, but its a great track and maybe her best single. I hope that she'll get a little more airplay at least with this one.

Swedish Ghosts

Ghost vs. Sanne is a quite newly formed Swedish trio. Heard this song "Hold this girl" today and was suprised I haven't heard of 'em before. It got the 60's vibe with Sannas voice, like a sober/rehabed Amy Winehouse and then it's mixed with a touch of pop/electro/blues music. I would say it sounds Swedish too in the sense that it's very catchy and radio friendly. It's also strings and other lovely "real" instruments. The Ghost is the producers Ulf Lindström and Johan Ekhé who made records for other Swedish artists like Darin, Agnes, Ana Johnsson and Robyn.
This deserves all the attention it can get on. There album are already released in several countries.

It's absolutely impossible

....to be sad while listening to K-Pop. If this don't cheer you up I don't know what does.
It's the girl group Kara covering Kim Jong kook's "Lovable".

A French little heartbox

Christophe Willem have a new single and this time it's in English. It's called Heartbox and follows the same kind of fusion between dance, electo and pop which he is known for. My interpretation of the lyrics is that he's in a relationship with a girl that now says that the love has gone. He's sad, but is not the one who grudge and look back, further he says that her "heartbox" is missing a beat and that everything feels fine when he walks in the sunshine. The music video however, follows a beatbox in various areas and people finding and interacting with it.

Gossip gorgeous

The song has been out for almost a month, but here's the official video of Leighton Meester's(actress most known as Blair in Gossip Girl) debut single featuring Robin Thicke. I think both the song and video is fab. Lot of fantastic wardrobe changes and hot steaming sex appeal, both from Meester and Thicke.

Congratulations Laura!!

Bravissimo! Laura Pausini, one of my favourite Italian artists, won a grammy for best female artist at the latin Grammy awards last night in Las Vegas. She releases her albums both in Italian and Spanish these days, and although I prefer the Italian versions of her songs, she made an amazing performance at the awards last night. She's just an amazing artist with an impeccable voice. Enjoy the performance below:

The Saturdays Ego

The Saturdays upcoming single, from their follow-up album WordShaker, is called Ego. And its a supercatchy pop gem like most of their previous singles. I was a bit disappointed with the first single choice, Forever is over(even if it has grown on me some), but Ego is stellar. Hear for yourselves:

Acoustic perfection

I came across this song while watching a British talk show the other day.  Its pretty harmonies and sad lyrics and an perfect short electronic melody that gets stuck in your head and make you wanna have it on repeat. The song is called The Last Day On Earth and sung by an artist named Kate Miller-Heidk.

Ma Ma Ma Manga!

maNga is a Turkish band that won prize for Best European Act at the EMA's last night. They mix a lot of different genres like electronic, rock, rap and traditional Turkish music. This is my favorite track from their debut album called "Bir Kadın Çizeceksin", which means "You'll draw a woman". I think that strings in songs only add something to it, and basically never can be bad. And thats also the case with this song.

Yet another unreleased track from Grégory Lemarchal

Grégory Lemarchals record company has released a lot of songs after Grégorys tragic death and now they're milking out the last drop they can with a greatest hits(named: Rêves) and yet another unreleased song as a single. One can debate weather or not Grégory wanted these songs to be relased, but when you get french ballads as amazing as Je Rêve its hard to be against it. Its absolutely gorgeous, even if not one of his greatest pieces. But he had an amazing gift: there are not many voices in the word that can touch me in more emotional ways than Grégory. His short life might add to the emotion, but he would have had a long career inhead of him nevertheless. I don't think anyone doubt that. I suggest that you check out some of his previous hits as well.

t.A.T.u - White Robe

t.A.T.u is returning with a new single called White Robe. The sound is more like their debut album, with an 80's twist to it. White Robe is the first international single from their last album.

Usher is back!

...for real this time. The bland first single Papers did no impression onme. This new song called "Rockband" on the other hand.... It should have been the first single instead. Its produced by the eversopopular RedOne. I think its the best Usher song I've heard since the Confessions album(and his marrigare/break etc.). Its stompy dancy uptempo RnB. The track will be feautured on Ushers upcoming sixth studio album called Raymond vs. Raymond on December 8th in the states.
Usher claims he'll rock you like a rockband! OMG, thats something. The best part of the song is when he sings "I'mma be Jimmy all on the top. I'mma be Jagger on the mic"

Update: The track was not on his album for some reason, I guess due to the similarities to the track "More"

Welcome

Hi everyone!
I'll start out this blog with a song that I stumbled on today. It's a song called "Befri dig selv" from the young dane Basim. It's not the kind of music we've been seeing from Denmark recently with big acts like Infernal or Medina. This is a Dance-/RnB-/Popfusion gem in the likes of Darin, Jay Sean, Akon etc.
Basim participated in the Danish version of X-factor 2008 and got to the quarter finals. Later that year he released his first album. Befri dig selv is the first single from his sophomore album. I'm not comepletly sure that the guy has the it-factor, but the song makes me wanna dance and I've been listening to it all day -that must count for something.
